Exploring New Frontiers in ADR: A Fresh Look at Mediation and Arbitration Theory, Practice and Skills

Mr. Baum had the distinct honor of co-Chairing the NYSBA’s Dispute Resolution Section's Annual Meeting program together with Charlie Moxley, an arbitrator and mediator who is also a past chair of the DR Section. Mr. Baum moderated a panel initially called “Let the Games Begin,” with Margaret Shaw, Bob Davidson, Lela Love, and Rebecca Price, taking a look at the ways in which parties and counsel might be approaching mediation differently now that it is somewhat institutionalized, and that they have developed certain expectations, preferences and strategies. The annual meeting was very informative, and a great opportunity to meet with a wide range of practitioners in the ADR field.

The night was capped by a very special cocktail reception honoring the late Chief Judge Judith Kaye and Edna Sussman for their work in establishing NYIAC (the New York International Arbitration Center), which is designed to make NYC a more user friendly venue for international arbitration.
