Mediation Ethics: Focus on Court Annexed Mediation
In this presentation for Mediation Settlement Week, sponsored by The New York Peace Institute, Civil Court, Civil Branch, New York County, Simeon H. Baum begins the program with the difficult task of defining ethical behavior. From there, Mr. Baum looks at some Industry Standards of Conduct such as the Mediation Ethics Advisory Committee. Finally, Mr. Baum takes a look at a variety of ethical issues and discusses how a mediator may respond, whether the mediator has a duty to take any particular action, and whether there are ethical duties of a mediator under these circumstances.
